We are changing the way we ask you to register for our online events. Don’t worry, this process is quite easy to do and something we will support you with if you would like us to. Read on for step-by-step instructions.
What you need to register for one of our online events
- You will need a verified Zoom account of your own to register for an online event. A verified Zoom account is one where you have created an account and then verified your email address with Zoom by clicking a link that is sent to you via email after you have registered.
- You will also need to ensure you join meetings with the email address and zoom account you registered with to join the meeting.
How to set up a Zoom account if you don’t have one
Getting a Zoom account is totally free and only takes a few minutes to set up. All you need to do is the following:

- Visit the Zoom sign up page.
- Verify your age by entering your birth year.
- Enter your email address.
- Click Continue.
You will receive an email from Zoom (no-reply@zoom.us) with a verification code.
- Enter the verification code sent to your email.
- Click Verify.
- Enter your full name and password.
- Click Continue.
Your Basic account will be created.

Once you have registered for a Zoom account, you will be able to sign up for any of our future events following a similar process to what you may be used to with Eventbrite. You’ll just need to make sure you are using the email address linked to your Zoom account to sign up.
After signing up you will receive the link to join the event you have registered for directly to your inbox from Zoom, but we will also send reminders from our inbox – coproduction@ucl.ac.uk during the week leading up to the event.
