What we’ve been up to
The Anti-Racism Working Group had their third meeting and discussed ongoing anti-racism projects, the strategy review, and next steps for the anti-racism strategy.
Hania and Public and Patient Involvement Advisors attended the British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence Executive Board meeting, sharing updates and future plans.
Hania attended the monthly project meeting with co-producers and partners at the National Suicide Prevention Alliance (NSPA), continuing work on the suicide prevention project partnership and co-producing a set of shared principles on lived experience work in suicide prevention.
Hania attended an Evidence Synthesis Group Public and Patent Involvement (PPI) meeting, as a representative of the London Alliance for the Co-Production of Evidence Synthesis (LACES). (Evidence synthesis are high quality summaries of evidence research). The meeting was for people involved in PPI in evidence synthesis projects across the country who had joined together to form a community of practice to share learning with each other.
Sarah and members of the COMMET (Co-Producing Mathematical Models of Epidemics Together) team met to plan the next set of workshops we are running with communities who have been least heard in responses to the mpox epidemic in the UK.
Niccola and Asma delivered a ‘How we work' session for Green Horizons, gathering input from team members on the inclusive behaviours that help everyone to collaborate effectively. The workshop has been summarised into a first draft of our Green Horizons Ways of Working document, which contains the 11 key commitments that will underpin this project.
Coming up
As a continuation of the work on co-producing a set of shared principles for lived experience work in suicide prevention, in partnership with National Suicide Prevention Alliance, there will be two further co-production workshops to refine the principles developed in the first workshop. If you would like to share your views on this please fill in this survey. Deadline for sharing your views: 12:00 noon on Thursday 4 June.
Alongside researchers and co-producers involved in the project, we will be sharing our learning from the COMMET project at two conferences in July – the European Conference on Mathematical and Theoretical Biology and the Living Knowledge Conference.
Goodbye to George

We’re saying goodbye to George at the start of June! George joined the team in September 2022 to support some of our co-production projects and manage our marketing and communications activity. She has been the face behind our update blogs and monthly newsletters, facilitated Co-Pro Cuppas and led our website redesign, among a wide range of other activities. We wish her all the best for the future!

Your voice matters: Shaping suicide prevention principles in London
As part of our partnership with the National Suicide Prevention Alliance,, we are co-creating a Charter of principles to guide how suicide prevention services work with people with lived experience in London, and to shape our approach over the next seven years.
We have developed a first draft of these principles with a small group of people with lived experience, and we are now seeking wider feedback via this survey.
Deadline for sharing your views: 12:00 noon on Thursday 4 June.

Co-Pro Cuppas
Thank you to those of you who came along to our June Co-Pro Cuppa! It was great to see so many of you there. We had great discussions on a variety of topics including reflections on how co-production isn’t just about following a process, it’s about creating a sense of shared humanity and shared ownership. We also talked about importance of having support from senior leadership and how to go about helping to secure that.
We are taking a break from Co-Pro Cuppas over the summer and will share more details about future events in September.
